The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government founded the University of Engineering & Technology Mardan (UET Mardan) on March 7, 2018, in accordance with the KP Universities Act. Situated on the main Charsada Road in Mardan, the University Campus spans 172 Kanals. The Campus had previously been in operation as one of UET Peshawar’s satellite campuses since 2002. With BSc programs, two teaching departments computer software engineering and telecommunication engineering were first created. Based on the public’s interest stemming from its location and accessible amenities, the campus experienced rapid expansion in all areas, including faculty, laboratories, and infrastructure.
The two departments mentioned above also offer MSc and PhD degrees. The Department of Electrical Engineering was founded in 2012 and offers BSc in Electrical Engineering in Power and Communication streams. At UET Mardan, roughly 1000 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs at this time. A grant of Rs. 1.336 billion was authorized in 2016 by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan to establish departments of Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering as well as improve campus facilities for teachers and students. The HEC has endorsed the campus’s ability to operate as a fully-fledged engineering institution with this approval.
