The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Trust is the organization behind UMT. Prominent educationists, professionals, and industrialists founded ILM to improve organizational and individual effectiveness in 1990. ILM, driven by the admirable goal of assisting others in realizing their boundless potential as human beings, attempted to address the issues posed by the information-based economy, globalization, and ever-growing complexity.

The University of Management and Technology has developed into one of the nation’s top universities. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has designated it as a university in the ‘W4’ category, which is the highest ranking. According to the HEC rating of Punjab’s private sector institutions in the General Category (medium-sized), UMT also held the top spot for over two years.

The Impact Rankings 2020 ranked UMT in the top 600 HEI globally for societal impact. Additionally, UMT is ranked in the top 500 by QS Asia University Rankings for 2021. Additionally, UMT received a nomination for the Workplace of the Year category of the Times Higher Education Award Asia 2020.

An Act of the Punjab Assembly granted UMT’s degree-granting charter in 2002 when it was still known as the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT). Today, UMT is a stand-alone, non-profit, private university. Later, on June 16, 2004, the Punjab Assembly passed a similar Act, transforming IMT into the University of Management and Technology.

Eligibility Criteria:

The websites of the many colleges and institutions that provide them list the prerequisites for admission to all undergraduate and graduate programs that are taking applications for the spring of 2024. As an alternative, look for a pertinent program by clicking here.

Fulfilling the requirements for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs is typically one of the admission criteria for UMT programs. Samples of entrance exams are accessible on the OIA website. Merit-based admissions are made by the specified requirements or any additional ones that may apply. The following standards are used to calculate undergraduate merit:

  • 20% of the Matric scores and 30% of the Entrance test scores
  • 50% of the marks earned in the preliminary interview, if necessary

ICS students with Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Studies backgrounds are also eligible for admission to Engineering programs.

For undergraduate (LLB program), the merit list will be finalized based on the following:

  • The Law Admission Test (LAT) is mandatory

For graduate and Ph.D. programs, the merit list will be finalized based on the following:

  • Academic Marks
  • UGAT/GAT Marks
  • Panel Interview Marks

Apply Process:

As an alternative, candidates can apply from the convenience of their homes by going online application. To assist applicants save time and protecting the environment, the online application procedure has been broken down into sections that are simple to navigate.

  • Register via the admissions portal at UMT.
  • Finish the application procedure.
  • There are instructions for completing the application form at every stage.
  • The fields indicated with an asterisk (*) must be filled out.
  • A requisite application processing fee of RS. 2000/-must be deposited at the Habib Bank Limited (HBL).
  • Upload a photo or scanned copy of the payment slip in the designated area after making the payment.
  • Pay with the bank voucher that is supplied with the application.
  • Pay via the HBL deposit slip; don’t forget to include your VPN.
  • Make a financial transfer to UMT’s bank account. (HBL 2349-70000003-03)

Manual Application Process:

  • Go to the admissions office of UMT.
  • Pick up a token at the reception desk.
  • Consult with OIA personnel for career guidance.
  • Obtain an issued Visitor Profile Number (VPN).
  • Use the Form Issuance Counter to purchase an Admission Form.
  • Fill out the admission form completely and turn it in at the Form Receiving Section.
  • Get an Admit Card with the Date of the Test or Interview
  • Appear on the designated dates for the entry exam or interview
  • Verify your names when the merit lists appear.
  • Get a coupon for the charge.
  • Pay the fee at any of the national banks listed.
  • Send in the necessary paperwork and receipts for the fees.
  • Get your student ID
  • Go to the orientation.
  • Make course registrations and obtain a schedule.
